Winter Camp December 19-23, 2011
Monday Jan 3 NEW TOYS AND VIDEO DAYAll students by 11, lunch & snacks, video games and new toys to share. This mornings gonna be special as we’re allowing video games (and new toys) to be brought to camp! Welcome to Apple City as we set up a variety of free choice areas--from a barber/beauty shop, to a vet office, to a cafe, to a toy repair shop--where will you work? We'll also enjoy p.e. games and freeze dance. Later you may enter our design your own toy contest or join a fun play about lost toys, and don't forget the popcorn when we enjoy the ultimate toy fim, Toy Story 3!
Tuesday Jan 4: BB DAY (BOARD GAMES AND BEARS)
All students by 11, board game to share and stuffed bear, lunch & snacks, $7 for movie (extra $ ok) Trip approx. 2-4:30, Green Valley Cinema:
In the morning share your board games as you learn new games! You may also choose to enter a teddy bear drawing contest with prizes! Later, we'll treat our bears to new hats, scarves or vests--that we make ourselves! Outside we'll give our bears rides on our parachute, and enjoy the game Bear, Bear, Goldilocks! Don't forget about Apple city as your bear might want to visit the vet, cafe or barber shop. We'll finish our celebration as we enjoy the ultimate bear in a visit to the movies to see Yogi as he tries to save Jellystone Park from developers!
Wed. Jan 5 BUILDER’S DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, lego, playmobile, or other build-type toy. Trip approx 11:45-2:00 (weather permitting). Bring your favorite building materials as we create a mini city at Apple. We'll enjoy our regular legos, our giant circus playmobile set, and even special round castle legos from Spain! Later, visit Seascape Park for lunch, free play, relay races and games. When we return choose from dance, games and more building!
Thur. Jan 6 MONSTERS INC. DAY
All students by 11:00, lunch & snacks
In the a.m. draw your own monster with a variety of body parts (and maybe win a prize). We'll also hear a great Green myth with exciting monsters, and then discuss our favorites of all time. Enjoy the ultimate funny "monsters" Dogzilla and Kat Kong as we laugh our way through these terrific books. Later join a funny skit about misunderstood monsters, “cook” up some ghastly but yummy tombstone and dirt cup pudding, play crazy monster p.e. games, and learn the monster mash dance! We'll also enjoy more monsters in the film, Monster’s Incorporated.
Fri. Jan 7 SUPERHERO DAY
All students by 11, superhero costume, books, posters, etc., $7 for pizza lunch (extra video $$ okay), snacksTrip approx. 11:45-2:00 (weather permitting)
In the morning try our superhero drawing contest and then later enjoy our superhero fashion parade. Our lesson today will be on famous comic book heroes and their powers. In the p.m., we’ll “do lunch” at Village Host Pizza and then return to create a funny skit as we become superheroes and choose our own super powers! Finally enjoy free choice in Apple City or try making your own superhero comics book!
Monday Jan 10 OLYMPICS DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks In the morning try drawing a hero or monster from Greek mythology or free choice games. We'll learn about the history of the Olympic Games as well as some of the more famous Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus. In the p.m. we’ll learn about the exciting story of the Trojan Horse, and then plan our own Olympic games and ceremony---complete with gold medals!
Tuesday Jan 11 SLEEPOVER DAY
All students by 9, p.j’s & pillow & 1 stuffed toy (in a bag), $7 for pizza and ice cream
trip approx. 11:45-2:00
In the morning quiz your friends and enjoy slumber party type games. Later, get ready for a fun pajama party with fortune telling, pillow relays, and pajama dancing. For lunch enjoy cheese pizza slices at Showtime pizza and a frosty atBaskin Robbins— in your p.j.’s!!, Later, it’s pajama skits, and a funny science movie (with your pillow and toy) about a talking amphibian, Frog.
WINTER CAMP full day enrollment allows for the use of any hours between 7:45 and 5:30; to enroll complete the following request and submit by Tuesday, December 23rd
